Greg Ellison

Chief Executive Officer

Greg joined Alpha Bank London in January 2024 as CEO.

Greg has 26 years of experience in financial services, operating at Managing Director or CEO level for the past 16 years. He started his career in the UK working in regulated sales with HBOS before joining Barclays Wealth as Head of Banking and then Managing Director for the offshore businesses in Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man.

Following Barclays, Greg spent five years working in a privately owned multi-family office, setting up new businesses in Malta, UK, and Dubai. More recently, Greg was CEO of Capital International Group leading their wealth management businesses in the Isle of Man and South Africa. During his time with Capital, he founded and successfully launched a new digital corporate bank, Capital International Bank.

Greg holds a degree in Business Studies from Swansea University, an MBA from Henley Business School and executive diplomas from Oxford Said Business School and MIT. He is also a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors.

Joe Neophitou

Chief Commercial Officer

Joe is the Chief Commercial Officer of Alpha Bank London responsible for the Real Estate Finance and Private Banking Teams, since 2019.

He joined the Real Estate Finance team of the Bank in 2010, before becoming the Head of Real Estate Finance in 2017 overseeing lending growth from £150m to over £350m in 4 years.

Prior to joining ABL, Joe spent 8 years at the Bank of Cyprus UK (now Cynergy Bank), dealing with corporate clients and small businesses. In 2008, he spent 2 years in the Property Industry dealing with a diverse range of transactions including land acquisitions/disposal, development of housing, care homes and hotels.

Joe holds a BSc in Management, Marketing and Textiles from Manchester Business School.

Conrad O’Donnell

Chief Financial Officer

Conrad is the Chief Financial Officer of Alpha Bank London and joined the Bank in 2023.

He has over 25 years of banking experience, across a large suite of finance related activities (audit, advisory, commercial, reporting and strategy), gained within large institutions such as KPMG, Morgan Stanley, and Deutsche Bank, as well as smaller firms such as BGC Partners and Furness Building Society. Conrad brings SMF2 experience from his time at Furness Building Society where, along with colleagues, he helped develop the society into a £1.2bn balance sheet lending business with strong capital, profitability, employee engagement and future strategy.

Conrad is ACA qualified and holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from the University of Sheffield.

Dan Barbalat

Chief Risk Officer

Dan is the Chief Risk Officer of Alpha Bank London since 2022.

He joined the Bank in 2015 as Head of Regulatory Reporting within the Finance team, before becoming the Head of Risk and holding SMF4 for 2 years. In 2019, he moved back to Finance as Deputy CFO and Head of Finance, while additionally becoming the Head of MIS in 2020.

Prior to joining ABL, Dan spent 4 years with KPMG and Kleinwort Benson.

Dan is a qualified Chartered Accountant (FCCA) with the ACCA, having qualified with Deloitte and holds an BSc in Banking and Finance from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.

Jennifer Peters

Chief People Officer

Jen joined Alpha Bank London in December 2023 as Chief People Officer.

She brings a wealth of HR related experience from a variety of sectors from entrepreneurial start-ups to global professional services firms. Prior to joining Alpha Bank London, Jen spent 11 years working in Financial Services for several Japanese investment banks. Jen was recently appointed as a member of the City of London taskforce established by HM Treasury and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy to boost socio-economic diversity within Financial Services. She is passionate about developing people, creating inclusive environments, and driving culture change.

Jen studied Combined Social Science at Durham University and also holds a Masters in Human Resource Management from the University of Westminster.
